regrets

I'm leaving NUS soon. But actually i don't really wish to graduate, i'm enjoying my modules, i'm enjoying my work.

Here's a list of regrets that i'm going to carry leaving here, it sucks totally knowing that i can't do anything about them

1. staying in a proper hall
2. going for WAT
3. going for xchange
4. my summer program (Goh yunn ting fuck u)
5. Writing foolproof helpsheets with tutorial solutions for all my modules, i'm sure i will have been able to get a grade better for half a dozen of them. But as Dr Lian said: education is not about exams
   
6. tainctinvruntuhcajerusefreymetjolnojsekucfcpulptnhhepjhnm (this is under a mathematical cipher, coding theory gentlemen)
7. Some modules that i wanted to take but humji don't dare take...set theory, number theory, taming chaos, physical questions from everyday life. But oh wells least i can still crash classes in NTU when i'm at NIE.
   

MOE vs Profs

I have always been shocked by the fact that i'm much more inspired into studying by the professors in NUS than all the teachers that i ever had. Teachers who are actually trained professionals versus professor who are actually teaching to fulfill their contract requirements.

The great minds of today teaching the great minds of tomorrow.

So here's a summary of things that they have said, something i will remember for a long, long time

Prof Lian Bong hor:
Education is not about exams
I know that you people have been taught to bull-shit your way through the moment you don't know something, that's not the way to go

Why do we need science? Because human must progress, to progress we need research and thus the study of science.

You should not go on auto-pilot
What is science? Is Biology science? You can find a lion on Earth but can you find a lion on Mars? Is Physics science? They can't even prove fundamental laws like conservation of energy/momentum and there are so many things like dark matter, dark energy that they don't have the slightest understanding of. Yet these things threaten to crumble everything they have learnt/done. Is computer science science? If an alien pops up now what computer program does it uses? It's not going to use JAVAAAAAA........
Is mathematics science? Science is about absoulte truth! Is mathematics true everywhere? Seven is a prime number here, will seven be a prime number on Mars? How can seven not be a prime number? We DEFINED it to be a prime number! Mathematics is about ever-lasting absolute truth!

NUS wayang show

Right so our OKR actually conducted a fire-drill

While the various halls were having their IHG finale celebration at the track, we were made to fall in at the tennis court

WE DON'T NEED ANY MORE REMINDERS ON HOW UN-HAPPENING WE ARE. ON HOW OKR HAS NO "SHE", BUT ONLY LOTS OF "SHIM"

To all the uncles conducting the wayang show, I know that people w/o real substance tend to behave a bit more garang when recession looms but please...i think you might do better if you go make coffee for your boss.


I didn't not pay so much money for a room, just to get disturbed in my dinner!!!

Plus, how come Dr Wang Erxiao wasn't asked to fall in at the court?
I didn't know that math professors are fire-proof

i have always hated two kinds of people: the fat and the stupid

Still, its hard to be analogous to the Johnson scheme
Part 1 of the paper is typed and edited, i thank Mr Jake Ong, English major at York for his time.

I have a new theory

I think the irrational, illogical people are the smartest people in the world. Let's call these people N
No matter how smart the rest of the human population are,
we can never fucking figure out how their train of thought works
No matter how much education is thrown at them
they still can't process information, think properly, and make a proper response!

Now thats fucking impressive isnt it
They are like a black hole
A mathematical singularity

No matter how much you throw at them?
They suck everything in, and nothing comes out.

It may be money, advice, books.
